    I’m Danielle Santiago, a writer, editor, and content creator based in the New York Metropolitan area, with a deep interest in human behavior. In this blog, I attempt to unravel the backstories behind crime cases that pique my interest. On occasion, I input my thoughts in the designated, “My Two Cents Corner.”

  • We have an unfortunate case on our hands today, but it’s extremely important that we share the story of 6-year-old Bella Fontenelle. . Up until Tuesday, April 25, 2003, Bella was living in the New Orleans, Louisiana, suburb of Harahan with her family. Her parents, Michael Fontenelle and Jennifer Zeleden, are separated, but lived within blocks of each other to make co-parenting easier. . Bella was a kindergarten student at St. Matthew the Apostle School in River Ridge, Louisiana. She was beautiful, funny and kind. She loved princesses and playing dress up. . On that terrible day, Bella was murdered by her father’s girlfriend of four years, 43-year-old Bunnak Lim, when her father was at work. Bunnak has other aliases that include Hannah Landon and Bunnak Landon. . After she committed this terrible act, Bunnak concealed Bella’s body inside of a white, 10-gallon bucket used for pool chlorine. Then, she loaded the bucket into a wagon, walked to Bella’s mother’s home, and abandoned the bucket in her front lawn. . Bunnak was arrested by the Harahan Police Department on first-degree murder charges. The case is ongoing. .   • 🙏Tiffany Whitton, 26, of Marietta, Georgia, is a daughter, sister and mother. . She also lived a transient lifestyle that involved hard drugs and unsavory characters. . But Tiffany wasn’t always that way. As a child, she was passionate, rambunctious and high energy. . She made those around her smile, especially her devoted mother, Lisa Daniels, who continues to search for her daughter. . 🔎 Tiffany went missing from a Walmart Supercenter in Marietta on Friday, September 13, 2013. . It was around 2 am and Tiffany was shopping with her then-boyfriend, Ashley Caudle, 29. . On her way out of the store, Tiffany was confronted by plain-clothes loss-prevention staff for shoplifting. . She was already on parole for a burglary charge, so she took off fleeing—without her purse, cell phone, wallet, ID or shoes. .   • Right now I’m in 📍Atlantic City, New Jersey, and of course I got to thinking about what true crime-related cases happened here. . That’s when I learned about the Eastbound Strangler. . The Eastbound Stranger murdered four women in 2006. The individual(s) remains unknown. . The four women are pictured above clockwise: Kimberly Raffo, 35; Barbara Breideor, 42; Tracy Ann Roberts, 23; and Molly Dilts, 20. . All the women were found on November 20, 2006. They were lying face-down in a drainage ditch filled with shallow water behind the Golden Key Motel, which sat on the outskirts of Atlantic City. The hotel had a seedy reputation and was a known spot for drug use and sex work. . Their bodies were placed in a row, facing east, about 60 feet apart from each other. They were fully dressed but were missing their shoes and socks. They were all believed to have been strangled. . The women were sex workers and three of them suffered from severe drug addictions. . Today, the motel where their bodies were found, is an empty lot. In 2015 the hotel was torn down due to excessive flood damage. .   • ⚠️ As you prepare for a fun-filled Memorial Day Weekend, please keep in mind the dangers of drunk driving. ⚠️ . 👉 When in doubt, there’s no reason to take the risk and drive under the influence. . A recent tragedy caused by drunk driving occurred on Friday, April 28, 2023, when Jamie Lee Komoroski, 25, barreled into the back of a golf cart transporting Aric Hutchinson, 36, and Samantha Miller, 34, in Folly Beach, South Carolina. Jamie was traveling 65 mph in a 25-mph zone. . Aric and Samantha were leaving their wedding reception. The street-legal golf cart was transporting the couple back to their rental home. It was being driven by Aric’s brother-in-law, Benjamin Garrett, and his son, 17-year-old Brogan Garrett. . Samantha was killed by the impact. She was still clad in her wedding dress. . While recovering from multiple broken bones, facial fractures and a brain bleed, Aric was tasked with preparing for his wife’s funeral. In the same day he became a husband, he also became a widow. . 🙏My heart goes out to the family of the victims involved.🙏 . 🛑 Please, take this as a word of caution to discourage drunk driving and avoid doing so—at all costs.   • 🏡From the looks of it, Kouri and Eric Richins were living the American dream. . The couple, ages 33 and 39, respectively, had three sons, operated successful businesses—Kouri as a Realtor and Eric as co-owner of C & E Stone Masonry—and were going on 10 years together. . But that was all dismantled when Eric passed away unexpectedly in March 2022. . 🤔He was found with five times the lethal dose of fentanyl in his system….but Eric wasn’t a drug user. . A year later, Kouri published a children’s book, “Are You With Me?” and appeared on local TV stations to advertise it. She wrote the book with her sons to help them cope with their father’s death. . 💵 However, Kouri had a few other motives—of the financial kind. . The day before Eric died, she handed him a drink to celebrate closing on a 20,000-square-foot house she wanted to flip and renovate; a project Eric wasn’t on board with. . The day after he passed, she closed on the mansion and had a large party at her home. .
